Helen Skelton has reportedly been left ‘devastated’ after estranged husband Richie Myler shared photos from his romantic trip with his new girlfriend last week.
The Countryfile presenter, 39, confirmed she and rugby player Richie, 32, had split in April, four months after welcoming their third child together.
Richie was soon revealed to have moved on with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of Leeds Rhinos president Andrew Thirkill.
The new couple have been enjoying some time away together in Cornwall, with Richie sharing a photo of them embracing at sunset, adding that the visit was ‘worth a 32 year wait’.
Stephanie responded to the post to comment: ‘Thanks for the best weekend! LOVE YOU.’
A source has claimed Helen was left feeling ‘devastated’ after seeing the post, telling New! magazine: ‘Helen is devastated. It’s one thing knowing it’s happening, but it’s another thing actually seeing it.
‘For him to post it all over Instagram has been hard. She feels like this is rubbing it in her face, and it’s a knife to the heart. It just seems a bit insensitive.’
The insider added that Helen has kept a ‘dignified silence’ about their relationship following news of their split.
They added that she is reportedly focusing on work and her children – Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and seven-month-old Elsie Kate, who she shares with Richie – rather than dating at the moment.
Helen had announced she and Richie were splitting in April, sharing a statement on social media to let fans know.
She wrote at the time: ‘Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.’
Shortly after their split was confirmed, Richie was revealed to be beginning a new relationship with Stephanie.
A source told the Mail Online at the time: ‘Helen is absolutely devastated. Now she is contemplating life without him while he has moved on with his new partner.
‘Richie is insisting there was no crossover, that he began the romance with Stephanie after their marriage collapsed, but Helen feels let down. They are still married, and their baby is literally four months old.’
