We can’t stop laughing after Hilary Duff received an explicit birthday card from her five-year-old kid.
The 36-year-old actress has confessed that her daughter Banks, who is still unable to read, purchased her the unsuitable card in September, clearly unaware of what it signified.
Really keen to send a message of love to her mummy on her special day, Banks chose a card that read: ‘Happy birthday, d******d!’
Hilary – who has Mae, two, and Banks, five, with Matthew Koma, as well as Luca, 11, with Mike Comrie – said on Late Night With Seth Meyers: ‘My husband was so excited.
‘He took her to CVS, I don’t know where they bought the card, and he was like, “Banks got you the best birthday card.” And I was like, “Oh my God!”‘
Despite the offensive statement on the face of the card, Hilary was unconcerned; she was simply glad there was no confetti to clean up!
‘Thank God it didn’t have confetti, that’s my worst nightmare,’ she added. ‘When you open it and there’s glitter everywhere, [but] I thought it was going to sing to me or something and I was really surprised. Love it!’
Earlier this year, the Lizzie McGuire star spoke up about parenthood, admitting it’s ‘f***ing hard’ to be a mom.
Regardless, the blonde beauty has enjoyed the task of parenting her children.
‘I just love watching my kids form into their own individual unique selves,’ Hilary, who has been married to Matthew since 2019, told InStyle magazine.
‘I love my loud household with mayhem and the craziness and all the love and all the dirt. I love [parenting] with my husband. I love feeling like hugs and cuddles can make everything better.’
She even said she loves the ‘pressure’ of approaching each day with, ‘How the f**k are we going to make it through?’
‘And making it through the day and being like, “I don’t know how everyone is tucked in and fed and happy after all the things we’ve had to do today”.’
In terms of her job, Hilary was eager to demonstrate her support for her fellow actresses by joining the picket line during the industry strike, which has already ended.
She was in good spirits with her sign while picketing outside the Paramount Pictures studios in Los Angeles this summer.
‘Out there… with my girls. We stand with our union! Let’s gooooooo [sic],’ she captioned her Instagram post.
