Holly Willoughby admits she ‘censors’ herself due to cancel culture: ‘I don’t know what I want to say anymore’

Holly Willoughby has opened up about cancel culture, admitting she ‘doesn’t know what to say anymore.’

The This Morning star explained in her new book Reflections that, in the past, her words have been twisted, which has led to her ‘censoring’ her own views.

She said: ‘I find myself almost regurgitating what other people have said because I don’t know what I want to say anymore.’

While Holly had a manager for 13 years, she now manages herself after setting up all-female management company Roxy.

‘I hadn’t realised I’d lost a part of me when I gave up responsibility to someone else, but now I am regaining that,’ the 40-year-old said.

Meanwhile, she revealed that in the past, she’s used detachment as a coping mechanism in her life.

She revealed she’s been doing it as far back as when she was a child to mask her dyslexia.

‘I wasn’t present in my life,’ the star wrote. ‘Something was missing. There were moments when I felt a bit like a spectator of my own life. I wasn’t sad, I wasn’t depressed, it was just a feeling of being a little adrift.’

Holly has got very personal in her new book, with the presenter revealing she’s ‘terrified’ of being judged for it.

When asked on The One Show why she felt the need to share her personal story now, Holly said: ‘I live in the public eye, there’s a lot of me out there, probably boring most people, but there’s definitely been pieces of me that I haven’t been ready to share yet.

‘Up until now I’ve probably been terrified of the reception of being brave enough to write this all down and put myself out there over [the] fear of being judged in some way, and it actually doesn’t matter, because it had to happen and I feel good about it.’
