Holly Willoughby jokes her ‘t*ts are around her knees’ in candid thought on ageing

In a candid admission, Holly Willoughby has shared her thoughts on her changing body.

The This Morning star recently launched her lifestyle platform Wylde Moon and released her book, Reflections, and in promoting her new ventures she’s revealed some home truths about how she feels about her body as she gets older.

After hitting 40 earlier this year, Holly has noticed ‘things change quite rapidly’ – but what has also evolved is how she feels about it.

Because, despite joking her ‘t*ts are around her knees’, she recognises ‘getting older is a privilege’.

Speaking to friend Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast, Holly said: ‘We’re heading towards that kind of menopausal time, skin is changing, hair is changing, body’s changing. Even having had a baby, the shape of your body completely changes.

‘It’s really important in those moments, rather than look down and go, “Oh, my God, look at everything that’s changing, I’m getting older, I’m getting more wrinkles, my t*ts are around my knees”, you’ve sort of got to look up with it.

‘”My body was able to carry a baby and my boobs breastfed three children, and they were fine”…

‘You’ve got to go, “Yes, my face is starting to sag and my eyes are bloodshot and the rest of it, but, like, I’m healthy and I’m OK”.

‘Getting older is a privilege because not everybody else gets to be here.’

Holly – who shares children Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and Chester, seven, with husband Dan Baldwin – noted she’s become more mindful of the example she’s setting with how she thinks and talks about body image.

The presenter said: ‘Having a daughter, I’m very aware of the example I set now in this stage. Belle’s old enough to be watching me and I want to conduct myself in a way that when she gets to this stage, it’s like I’m clearing the pathway for her.

‘That’s how I feel about many things, not just about outward image. I feel I have a responsibility there, to do this in a way that is a positive experience for all of us.’

Holly has made some rare personal revelations recently, opening up in her new book, and admitted she was ‘terrified of being judged’ by the public over the details she was choosing to share.

When asked why she felt the need to share her personal story now, Holly said on The One Show: ‘I live in the public eye, there’s a lot of me out there, probably boring most people, but there’s definitely been pieces of me that I haven’t been ready to share yet.

‘Up until now I’ve probably been terrified of the reception of being brave enough to write this all down and put myself out there over [the] fear of being judged in some way, and it actually doesn’t matter, because it had to happen and I feel good about it.’
