Hugh Jackman shares gluten-free baking fail after ‘bragging’ about his kitchen skills

Hugh Jackman might be able to do many things, but when it comes to baking it’s hit or miss.

The actor shared a recent baking fail after admitted he had ‘bragged’ about how good he is in the kitchen.

His acting, singing and dancing might be flawless, but his bread-making leaves a lot to be desired (or should that be ‘loaves a lot to be desired’?)

Hugh posted a great video on Sunday of how his gluten-free loaf turned out after his latest foray into baking.

In the clip, which he posted on Instagram, he and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness inspected what looked like a sunken lump of dough inside a bread tin – a long way off from the domed loaf they were hoping to get.

Chuckling, Hugh said: ‘People say all the time that we only show the perfect parts of our lives, and I have been bragging a little bit about my baking so I thought let’s celebrate the failures.’

He went on: ‘Apparently gluten-free flour doesn’t bake the same way as normal flour.’

‘It doesn’t rise,’ Deborra-Lee added, ‘I wonder if it tastes as bad as it looks.’ She reached in for a quick sample but realised it was too hot to nibble on.

The Wolverine actor wrote in the caption: ‘Bread baking FAIL. #celebratethefail’.

During lockdown the Les Miserables star has been getting to grips with his bread maker and displaying the results on social media.

Thankfully his previous efforts have looked a lot tastier than this one.
