Jada Pinkett Smith looks like a different person after shaving her head.
The actress, 49, unveiled her new look in a picture shared on Instagram by her daughter Willow, 20, on Monday.
American star Jada could be seen in the picture as she wore a yellow top while Willow rested her head on her mother’s shoulder.
The pair sat outside against a backdrop of a bougainvillea bush with the pretty pink flowers behind them.
Willow captioned the photo: ‘A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return.’
Reposting the picture on her own Instagram, Jada wrote: ‘Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed.’
Jada is set to turn 50 in September and, earlier this month, she opened up about how she used to indulge ‘hard’ in drink and drugs, insisting those years are behind her.
The Hollywood star recalled the time she passed out while high on the set of The Nutty Professor.
She said she used to drink up to three bottles of alcoholic drink in one night and realised she had a ‘problem’ when she showed up for work while under the influence in 1996.
During an episode of her Red Table Talk series, she revealed: ‘One of the reasons why this particular show was really important to me is because wine, for me, was like Kool-Aid. I was a brown liquor drinker – rum – and also vodka. I was a hard liquor drinker. Like, I could drink almost anybody under the table…
‘I was drinking hard in high school too, and when I got out here, I was doing cocktails. So ecstasy, alcohol, weed.’
She added: ‘Let me tell you, I was having me a little ball. But it was like, “This is not cocaine. This is not heroin”. I would do those three together. That was my cocktail.’
The 49-year-old went on to explain that her threshold for drinking became ‘so high’ that she progressed to two bottles of wine and would then do ‘ecstasy, weed and alcohol at the same time’ to ‘get there faster’.
‘I can keep the high going because then I can just keep drinking ’cause I know ecstasy’s gonna last me about three, four, five hours, the weed, you know, that’s just gonna keep me just smooth, and then the alcohol’s gonna keep it going,’ she explained.
‘I was going for that third bottle of wine, I said, “You’ve got a problem”. And it was cold turkey that day… I just stopped.’
