Jake Quickenden heaped praise on his son Leo Oliver, after the newborn was attacked by vicious trolls on social media.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here star welcomed his first child with Sophie Church at the beginning of the year, and has proudly been giving us glimpses of the little one ever since.
However, he was forced to hit back after some took aim at Leo’s appearance, calling him ‘ugly’.
Taking to Instagram, the 32-year-old shared an adorable video of the tot resting on a sofa cushion.
‘I can’t stop staring at him…. sorry for the over posting but I’m just so in love…,’ he wrote alongside the post.
‘5 weeks on Friday!! Little warrior!! Also thanks for all the support over the last week! Social media can be a dark place, but it’s also full of amazing people!! #dad #baby #babyboy #family #love.’
Right on cue, the post was flooded by support from fans and famous pals, with many thrilled to see the tot.
‘Shouldn’t have to apologise for posting this gorgeous face all over! I never get bored of seeing baby posts, he’s beautiful,’ one posted.
‘He’s doing amazingly for 5 weeks!! Look at that head control!! He’s also such a cutie,’ a follower agreed.
An Instagram user posted: ‘Super cute! I don’t blame you for staring! I would be the same! He’s beautiful!’
‘Think we are all in love with this little guy,’ another replied. ‘He is gorgeous and please keep posting. Social media can be a dark place but it is beautiful souls like yourself that light it up xx.’
As a fan added: ‘Never apologise for putting posts up your a proud dad and baby Leo is a little cutie we all love to look at him keep posting Jake sending you all lots of love.’
Jake recently made headlines after calling out unking messages he had received over Leo’s appearance, with some trolls saying he is ‘weird looking’ and ‘needs botox’.
The X Factor star was also warned to ‘stay off’ social media if he didn’t ‘want to be trolled’.
In a twist, he later explained that the troll who called Leo ‘ugly’ had apologised for his cruel comments.
Giving fans an update on the situation, he said on his Instagram story: ‘He sent me his number on Instagram, I gave him a ring. Do you know what the scary thing is? He’s a nice lad.
‘He apologised and said it was pathetic and he was after a few likes and he needs to grow up. If it’s taught him anything then hopefully he won’t do it again. That’s all we ask for.
‘Let it be a lesson, you can’t do it, you may get a few likes but it upsets people.
‘I appreciate him for ringing, or sending me his number so I can ring him. Like I said, he’s a normal lad.’
