James Haskell has invoked the wrath of some of his fans by dubbing his pregnant wife Chloe Madeley a ‘huge sea cow’.

Oh James.

In what we can only describe as a very bold post, the I’m A Celebrity star, 36, shared a snap of his stunning wife in a bikini, posing underwater.

The caption, however, prompted many of his fans to declare that he’s headed ‘straight to hell’.

‘Bloody hell you go snorkelling and the first thing you see is a huge sea cow doing a mating display! 😂😂,’ James, 36, penned.

‘She appears to think I’m her partner. I didn’t know whether to harpoon it or feed it.’

Thankfully Chloe, 34, doesn’t seem too offended, although she admitted it wasn’t the only comparison James had thrown her way, responding to a comment by saying: ‘This whole trip he’s been comparing me to big fat sea creatures, at this point I’m becoming immune to it. Pizza helps.’

Many also rushed to Chloe’s defence, with one fan writing: ‘Not sure calling a pregnant woman a sea cow is a wise move hask 😂😂 (but feed it).’

‘You are such a brave man. I see presents in your future. Not for you, from you,’ another added, while one more said: ‘Straight to hell for that one!’

Others were less impressed with the comment, with one writing: ‘I know this is meant as a joke but bloody hell, how insensitive to call a pregnant woman who’s growing your child a huge sea cow 😢.’

‘Even if its a joke thats not nice,’ another said, while one more added: ‘SO disrespectful.’

James and Chloe revealed the exciting news that they’re expecting their first child last month.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Chloe candidly discussed her battle to get pregnant, saying: ‘I find it quite amusing when people assume that all women, everywhere, want to be a mother, because it’s really complicated.’

After months of not using contraception, she explained that she was ‘nervous’ when she still wasn’t pregnant last spring.

She recalled: ‘We picked up the pace in terms of trying, and nervousness turned into fear.’

The couple were not keen to go down the IVF route, which led to a ‘really sad’ few months.

When Chloe finally learned of her pregnancy, she simply couldn’t wait to tell her husband, who was away on work in Dubai at the time – and broke the happy news over the phone.

The couple have been married since December 2018.
