Jane Fonda has shared the moment she received the coronavirus vaccine.

The actress, 83, got the jab on Sunday and took a picture for her fans to share how it went.

In the photo, posted on her Instagram page, Jane can be seen sat in her car with the window rolled down wearing a face mask with her hair tied back.

She gives a thumbs up to the camera as a nurse approaches with the Covid-19 vaccine.

She wrote in the caption: ‘Got vaccinated today! Yay! It doesn’t hurt.’

The star is the latest famous face to have the vaccine, with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sir David Attenborough, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen and Dame Joan Collins also getting vaccinated.

It was recently announced that the Grace and Frankie star will be honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille award at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards, in celebration of her impact on the industry.

The Cecil B. de Mille Award – named after one of the most successful filmmakers in American history – is given annually to ‘a talented individual who has made a lasting impact on the film industry’.

Previous recipients include Tom Hanks, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bridges, Robert De Niro and Audrey Hepburn.

HFPA President Ali Sar said in a statement: ‘The Hollywood Foreign Press Association takes great pride in bestowing the 2021 Cecil B. de Mille Award to Jane Fonda.

‘For more than five decades, Jane’s breadth of work has been anchored in her unrelenting activism, using her platform to address some of the most important social issues of our time.’

He continued: ‘Her undeniable talent has gained her the highest level of recognition, and while her professional life has taken many turns, her unwavering commitment to evoking change has remained.

‘We are honored to celebrate her achievements at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.’

Jane is famously outspoken about her political views, protesting the Vietnam War, campaigning for civil rights, and advocating for feminist causes.

The actress was arrested during a climate change protest in Washington in 2019.
