Jeremy Clarkson has hit back after locals took to Facebook to complain about the noise made by tractors on his farm at night.

The Clarkson’s Farm host, 61, has been running the Diddly Squat Farm Shop since last year, but was not impressed when a neighbour complained about the noise.

One follower tweeted: ‘@JeremyClarkson care to respond to this guy on our local Facebook group? Mind you he’s had so much hate already such as (watch Jeremy clarkson farm).’

The post in question had read: ‘Why at almost 11pm at night are we still getting tractors up and down the road on Belle Vue. FFS do it during the b***dy day.’

Jeremy had no time for the complaint, responding: ‘Yeah. Not sure the deluded fool knows much.’

There are many reasons why a farmer might harvest at night, as conditions are often better than during the day, with night-time harvests often providing better quality produce as well making the process of removal easier too.

Since Jeremy set up the farm last year, viewers and fans have flocked to the shop in Chipping Norton in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the star in action.

Queues of over two and a half hours have been reported at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, as fans try to get their hands on some of Jeremy’s produce.

Jeremy recently revealed that he had lost 10 acres of crops after avoiding certain insecticides in order to save the bees.

He revealed to Times Radio’s Giles Coren: ‘If you spray neonicotinoids on oilseed rape, which you have to do to stop flea beetles eating it, that hurts the bees.

‘So everybody would say you mustn’t do that. We must not hurt the bees, it’s obvious. However, if you don’t use neonicotinoids your oilseed rape basically dies. I lost about ten acres of it last year.’

He added: ‘So it’s always a balance, it’s always a struggle, everything you ever do. There is nothing organic on my farm – nothing.’

Clarkson’s Farm was recently renewed for a second series with Dan Grabiner, Amazon Studios’ Head of UK Originals saying in a statement: ‘Clarkson’s Farm is Jeremy’s unfiltered love letter to farming.

‘It is that authenticity, charm and humour, combined with the farm’s fantastic characters, which have made the series such a remarkable hit with audiences.

‘We are delighted to be joining the team for another year-in-the-life of Diddly Squat, and wish Kaleb and farmers across the country luck as Mother Nature continues to take revenge on Jeremy.’
