Jessica Biel was able to see the lighter side of a terrible situation after being trapped on a flight for hours due to a strong blizzard.
The 41-year-old American actress had planned a’short excursion’ in the air but was forced to reroute to Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah due to poor weather.
The bad news didn’t stop there: when passengers arrived at the airport, they were advised they may stay on the ‘inhospitable’ runway for considerably longer than expected.
So, with nothing to do except amusing herself for a bit, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre star took out her phone and shared her experience with the globe.
After giving a shout-out to Mindy Kaling, Jessica said: ‘I am currently on a short flight and we now cannot land because of this crazy snowstorm.
‘It’s making the runway inhospitable to land. But luckily I brought all my favourite snacks, and I brought extra,’ she continued, before running through a clip show of the snacks she’d brought on board with her.
As if the goodies weren’t enough, Jessica, who has been married to musician Justin Timberlake for 12 years, said that she had brought over a little karaoke machine.
‘Just in case it gets really, really desperate up here – how much would [the people on] this plane literally want to kill me if I pulled out this microphone and started karaoke with them? Should I try it?’
It’s unclear if she did whip out the songbook in the end, but admirers of the actress expressed their willingness to participate in a sing-off if they were on the flight with her.
A little later on, she revealed that her ‘epic journey’ was still continuing: ‘We’re not allowed to get off. They’re trying to refuel and get back up in the air.’
With all her snacks gone, she admitted she was ‘really p****d’ that she didn’t bring a lunch after all: ‘The moral of the story is, it doesn’t matter if you’re flying for 20 minutes or 20 hours, pack your own damn lunch.’
Eventually, the plane flew out of Utah and landed in its final destination, with Jessica wishing everyone’safe travels’ if they were out and about in the recent poor weather in the United States.
According to reports, 43 people have died in nine different US states as a result of a series of cold snaps that affected various parts of the country.
Heavy snow, in particular, slammed the Salt Lake City region, causing several adjacent towns to ‘interlodge’ for hours on end – ‘interlodge’ is when a town and local businesses close and stay indoors during heavy snowfall.
