Jessie J revealed an honest confession on her social media accounts, giving followers a glimpse into her new life as a first-time mother.
The 35-year-old singer and her 39-year-old partner, Chanan Safir Colman, had a kid named Sky.
She resorted to Instagram stories to commiserate with her fellow mothers, admitting that the transition was ‘hard af’ on certain days.
The actress wrote a lengthy statement that spanned two slides and urged more parents to talk freely about their experiences, even when things don’t go as planned.
‘Sending a hug to any new mother who is digesting everything,’ Jessie began her statement.
‘Hormones. Breast feeding. Pumping. Identity confusion. Missing your job. An endless to do list. Exhaustion. Isolation. Recovery. Limited social life. And more… [sic].’
‘You are doing an AMAZING job,’ she said, providing words of encouragement for their circumstances as well as her own. You look stunning in your new outfit.
‘It won’t be this hard forever. That baby is in love with you. Love you [sic].’
Admitting she was giving herself a pep-talk as much as she was attempting to help her fellow mothers, the chart-topper revealed her own struggles in the next note.
It read: ‘Wrote that for myself too. Some days are hard af. I hate that we so often feel so apprehensive to say it’s hard af sometimes to not seem ungrateful.
‘Gratitude can always exist. As it does. It’s magical. But sometimes it’s hard af. And that’s ok. It’s a lot. We are allowed to be sad, overwhelmed and feel completely lost and alone even inside the magic moments.
‘We are human. Love you all seriously. If you see me out and about and have just had a baby. Come give me a hug. We both need it [sic].’
Her kind sentiments came after she shared a behind-the-scenes peek at her strict feeding routine in another Instagram video.
Along with a slew of photos from her nocturnal routine, she released an hour-by-hour breakdown of her nights, as well as a photo of herself passed out on top of her breast bulge.
