Jesy Nelson ‘focusing on herself’ amid split claims as she and Sean Sagar ‘decide to take time apart’

Jesy Nelson is said to be ‘focusing on herself’ following claims she has split from boyfriend Sean Sagar.

The singer, 29, who decided to quit girlband Little Mix after nine years in December, first went public with her relationship with Our Girl actor Sean in August last year.

She and Sean sparked speculation that they have now split, after both were seen to have deleted pictures of each other from their Instagram pages.

It’s now been claimed that the couple have decided to ‘take some time apart’, with lockdown making things difficult for their romance.

Sources close to the couple told The Sun: ‘Jesy and Sean have decided to take some time apart. It’s such a shame, as they made a lovely couple, but recently things haven’t been right between them.’

They added that Jesy is instead ‘focusing on herself’, claiming: ‘Jesy just left Little Mix and is working hard on herself right now – she has to put herself first.’

It comes after the pair’s Instagram cull of their relationship, with both Jesy and Sean noticeably ridding their respective Instagram pages of loved-up snaps with each other that had been previously posted.

The duo had kept their relationship pretty private while dating and had only featured on each other’s pages a handful of times.

Jesy – who previously dated Love Island star Chris Hughes – and Sean are still following each other, suggesting that things between them have ended on good terms.

Jesy’s last post features a couple of selfies, with the star pulling a face in one picture and joking: ‘Got bored didn’t I.’

She had taken a two-month break away from social media, before returning in December to announce her exit from Little Mix.

Sharing a statement with fans, Jesy explained she was focusing on her mental health, as she said: ‘The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’

Addressing Little Mix fans, Jesy said: ‘You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never, ever forget it.’
