Jo Whiley splashes out £160 each on felt replicas of dog Django and late cat GinGin to immortalise pets

Jo Whiley has fallen in love with her pets all over again, after having them immortalised in felt replicas.

The Radio 2 presenter, 55, decided to get a lasting reminder of her beloved animals for years to come, following the death of her cat GinGin three months ago.

Taking to Instagram, she revealed that she now has a felt replica of her beloved cat GinGin, as well as another of her family’s dog Django.

Jo seemed thrilled as she shared pictures of cat GinGin and pooch Django that inspired their now felt forms, as created by Art by Kiki ran by artist Katy Richardson, that creates felted pet portraits.

The DJ had a huge smile on her face as she posed with her felt babies and captioned her snap: ‘Thank you @artbykiki_ for immortalizing our beloved pets.

‘GinGin, our supercilious puss who we lost this year and Django the porn star pup who is still very much alive and kicking – posing legs akimbo more often than not. We ❤️.’

That’s not to say her post hadn’t caused some confusion at first, as some of Jo’s followers questioned whether she’d had her dear pets stuffed.

No, not stuffed. Simply recreated.

‘I can hardly tell them apart, amazing! Love it,’ posted one fan in response, while another said: ‘Oh wow they’re brilliant and what a beautiful reminder ❤️.’

Another joked: ‘That can be quite confusing if you’ve misplaced glasses or had a few too many drinks or worse both!!! ????❤️.’

Jo was seen paying tribute to GinGin last year, following the cat’s death in October.

She was seen sharing a slew of her favourite snaps with her furry pal and insisted that her family had loved GinGin ‘big time’.

Jo said: ‘Farewell then GinGin. You were a spectacularly supercilious cat and your ability to sleep in small boxes was second to none. We loved you bigtime. You truly were Top Cat ?.’

Since then, Jo has revealed that her family has welcomed on board another kitten to fill that GinGin shaped hole in all of their hearts.

Introducing new kitten Ponyo, Jo wrote: ‘Kids with kittens.. kittens in shoes.. kittens who think they’re parrots…etc etc. Meet Ponyo who’s bringing much joy to our little gang#kittensofinstagram.’

Former Radio 1 host Jo is married to husband Steve Morton, who she shares four children with; daughters India and Coco Lux and sons Jude and Cassius.
