Joe Lycett is taking advantage of a professional opportunity in light of the recent GB News issue, which resulted in the suspension of two of its presenters.
Former actor Laurence Fox made a number of disgusting statements against female reporter Ava Evans, known as Ava Santina on X, previously Twitter, on Dan Wootton’s GB News broadcast on Tuesday evening, including asking: ‘Who would want to shag that?’
Ofcom received over 7,000 complaints and initiated an inquiry into the occurrence, which resulted in the suspension of both parties from the station.
When he saw a vacancy, 35-year-old comic Joe appears to have jumped at the chance to present to the country (he’s definitely kidding).
‘I have instructed my management to inform @GBNEWS bosses that I am available to replace any of their suspended presenters,’ he quipped on X this evening.
Given his previous live TV appearances, we have a sneaking suspicion that the comic is not entirely serious about his application.

Perhaps his most notable incident in recent history was when Joe claimed to be a Tory in a sarcastic live TV appearance, leaving his admirers in awe.
Asked by Laura Laura Kuenssberg about the strength of Liz Truss’ position back in September last year, Joe responded: ‘I think the haters will say that we’ve had 12 years of the Tories and that we’re sort of at the dregs of what they’ve got available and that Liz Truss is the backwash of the available MPs.
‘I wouldn’t say that because I’m incredibly right wing, but some people might say that.’
He continued the façade, leaving people congratulating his ‘grade-A trolling.’
Aside from earning a job at GB News, Joe is now involved in an art show in Covent Garden, where some of his most famous and amusing paintings are on display.
One of these is Joe’s renowned photograph of Harry Styles, which the singer brought with him and is lending to the family-run They Made This gallery for the exhibition.
A table in the centre of the small gallery holds different goodies given to Joe by fans, including chocolate bars and even a solitary grape. Generous.
