JoJo Siwa beautifully brushes off woman who says her daughter will no longer watch her after she came out

If you’re abandoning the fandom of JoJo Siwa because she’s come out, the YouTuber has news for you – she doesn’t really care.

The 17-year-old beautifully brushed off a follower who said they would no longer allow their daughter to watch her content, after she came out last week.

A number of people left negative comments on JoJo’s IGTV video, in which she explained that she is not ready to label her sexuality, but is the happiest she’s ever been after coming out as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

One of the comments from a woman who appears to have since deleted read: ‘My daughter will never watch you again.’

JoJo wasn’t bothered though, simply replying: ‘Okay!’

The exchange was shared on Comments By Celebs, who posted it with the caption: ‘Their loss.’

Gigi and Bella Hadid’s sister Alana wrote: ‘Go girl! You’re an inspiration’, while vlogger Michelle Smith wrote: ‘You tell ‘em Jojo! Thank you for making the world a better place for our kids.’

Among the thousands of comments on JoJo’s video were a number of vile comments, with people claiming the teen coming out was ‘inappropriate’ for her young fans.

One read: ‘My daughter has always been a #1 fan but this is not appropriate for her at all. As for us, we will be taking all the clothes, bows and bedroom decor down. I’m really sad about this. We follow biblical principles and this does not represent the Bible at all.’

However, JoJo’s fans reported homophobic comments, and the positivity to her video vastly outweighed the negative posts.

The singer first sparked speculation that she was coming out by lipsyncing to the lyrics ‘no matter gay, straight or bi’ from Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, and confirmed the news by wearing a t-shirt reading: ‘Best gay cousin ever.’

When asked if she had labelled her sexuality, JoJo explained: ‘I have thought about this, and the reason I’m not going to say this answer is because I don’t really know this answer. I think humans are awesome, I think humans are really incredible people.

‘Right now, I’m super duper happy and I want to share everything with the world, I really do, but I also want to keep things in my life private until they are ready to be public.

‘Right now what matters is that you guys know that no matter who you love, that it’s okay and that it’s awesome and the world is there for you.’

She added: ‘There are so many accepting and loving people out there that it’s okay. Of course people are going to say it’s not normal, but nothing is normal. Literally not one thing about anybody is normal and it’s okay not to be normal, it’s okay to be a little different, it’s okay to be a little weird, strange, different.’

JoJo has created an empire from her YouTube channel, which has 12 million subscribers, making millions off the back of her hair bow line and selling out concerts around the world.
