Katherine Ryan has revealed the exciting news that she’s welcomed her second baby, which came only a couple weeks after announcing her pregnancy.
The comedian didn’t share the sex or name of the new arrival, but did bless fans with sweet images of her baby to social media on Monday morning as she remained in hospital after giving birth.
Her partner Bobby Kootstra was also seen cradling the newborn in the photos, as Katherine revealed the little one arrived right on kickoff of what appeared to be the Netherlands’ game in the Euros yesterday.
Her timing was clearly impeccable as only hours before The Duchess star was seen bouncing around excitedly on Instagram after submitting the final draft of her upcoming book.
Sharing a sweet update on Monday morning, Katherine shared the next episode of her podcast would be a little delayed – fair play – as she was seen beaming towards the camera with her new baby in shot.
She wrote: ‘I have a really good reason yesterday’s podcast is late.’

In another shot, the star – who also has 11-year-old daughter Violet from a previous relationship – shared a glimpse of partner Bobby taking in his new baby as well as the Euros game which was on the hospital room’s screen.
Last month Katherine confirmed that she was expecting a baby with Bobby while filming a live episode of her Telling Everybody Everything podcast in Kentish Town in London.
The 37-year-old showed off her bump in a form-fitting dress, and, according to The Sun, remained coy as she refused to reveal her due date.
Katherine said that by keeping her due date a secret, she could fend off questions from nosy mums and comparisons between her bump and others.
The star’s daughter Violet joined her mother on stage, and told the audience she is ‘very excited’ to be a big sister.
Katherine had previously revealed her bump in a green dress on Celebrity Juice last week, but did not address her pregnancy.
The All That Glitters host has largely avoided posting full-body pictures on Instagram over the last few weeks, and concealed her tummy during TV appearances with more loose-fitting outfits.
After Katherine announced the news, Bobby confirmed it on his own Instagram, sharing a picture of his wife’s baby bump and writing: ‘Bringing new life.’
After saying she got a mix of nice and unpleasant messages following the news the acclaimed comedian wasn’t going to sit back and watch the sexist narrative continue with certain comments.
Addressing the situation on Instagram Stories, Katherine recently told her followers: ‘I’m just gonna let that sexism wash over me. I’m not gonna let it affect my zen. No, I’m not cancelling my tour.
‘I’ve received a lot of really touching nice messages and a lot of rude messages and a lot of messages – A LOT of messages – asking if I’m gonna cancel my tour. No I’m not cancelling my tour.’
She added in her witty way: ‘Your dad is cancelling his tour.’
This is Katherine’s first child with Bobby, after the couple got married in a civil partnership in 2019.
The pair have had a fairytale romance straight out of the movies, having reunited in Canada while Katherine filmed Who Do You Think You Are?, two decades after they first dated.Credit: Original article published here.
