Katherine Ryan has shared another of her sweet side-by-side picture posts on Instagram as she reflected on everything she’s experienced in the past few years – including giving birth to her second child in June.
The 38-year-old comedian, who reunited with childhood sweetheart Bobby Kootstra in 2018, is currently enjoying a winter break in Dubai with her family.
Uploading a picture taken by her partner to Instagram of them lying together on sun loungers, she wrote: ‘Life comes at you fast.’
The first image showed Katherine in an emerald-green bathing suit with gold ring details, looking up from her phone, with Bobby next to her.
The second image, which revealed the pair in the same poses, but Bobby in sunglasses and Katherine in a yellow swimming costume, was one the star originally uploaded in September 2020 to celebrate their anniversary.
The original post also featured a throwback, showing a picture of them embracing at the beach and a photo of the pair of them as teens at prom, with The Duchess star clad in a formal cream ballgown and Bobby in a black suit, tie and blue shirt.
In October, the star opened up about her experience with miscarriage as she shared a snap of a rainbow on her stomach from before she was pregnant with her six-month-old son Frederick, and spoke about the treatment she’s been undergoing to help with fertility.
She added: ‘During #pregnancylossawareness month, I hope your non-linear journey proves to be a happy one in the end. Push for your own answers if you want them and may your grief be gentle and short lived. Xx.’
Katherine is also mother to Violet, 12, from a past relationship ,and reunited with Bobby when she headed back to Canada to film an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? for the BBC in 2018.
Katherine recently shared with Metro.co.uk that the backlash to her daughter’s Halloween make-up – which some took for a black eyes – was a ‘teaching moment’, as Violet wanted her to clear up the confusion after she switched from a spooky costume to match her family in a group Incredibles outift.
She explained: ‘It was great and a real opportunity for a teaching moment because I said “no one is owed an explanation. We don’t have to explain why you had this Halloween makeup on”.’
