Katie Price has breathed a sigh of relief as her divorce from ex-husband Kieran Hayler nears completion.
It was revealed this week that Katie and Kieran’s long-awaited divorce could be signed off by next week following the couple’s split in 2018.
My Crazy Life star Katie, 42, admits the drawn out process has had an effect on her mental health, while she’s now looking forward to being free to marry new boyfriend Carl Woods.
Reacting to the news, the former model wrote in her Instagram stories: ‘Finally I will be released from something that caused me years of mental abuse and FINALLY can’t wait to be MRS Woods one day as @carljwoods I know is and will be PERFECT like he has been consistently from day one.’
It comes after a source revealed Katie and Kieran will soon be signing on the dotted line to officially dissolve their turbulent marriage.
‘The final fees have been paid and the paperwork has all been signed off,’ the insider told the publication.
‘She was hoping to be single for Christmas, but allowing for delays over the festive season, she should be free and single by New Year’s Eve,’ they added.
A rep for the star added: ‘This is the case – they’re waiting for the decree absolute to drop through the letterbox.’
Katie and Kieran’s marriage wasn’t short of problems. After tying the knot in 2013, it emerged that Kieran, 33, had had an affair with one of Katie’s best friends.
The former couple, who share children Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, renewed their vows before calling it quits in 2018.
Since then, Katie has dated fitness trainer Kris Boyson before finding love again with former Love Island star Carl Woods this summer.
The couple have been dating since June and are still going strong with Carl seemingly getting on well with Katie’s five children, also including Harvey, 18, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13.
Opening up about their plans to get married, Katie recently said: ‘There is no way he will give me a ring at Christmas… it is too cliche.
‘He will do it when I least expect it.’
Carl, 31, then teased: ‘She won’t even know it is coming.’
