Katie Price has strongly responded to those who query how she is able to afford life’s luxuries after declaring bankruptcy twice.
The reality personality, 46, declared bankruptcy in 2019 with outstanding debts to HMRC totaling up to £761,994.05 in unpaid tax bills.
Along with her continuous financial problems, the mother-of-five was forced to leave her famed Sussex house, Mucky Mansion, after an acid assault on her car jeopardised her safety.
However, she quickly settled into her new digs, a modest four-bedroom property in Sussex.
The huge pad boasts a double garage and an open-plan kitchen, and the monthly rent is expected to be an eye-watering £4,995.
The costly new property, paired with regular holidays and not-so-cheap clothing, has prompted followers to wonder how Katie is able to pay the bills.
But the former beauty model resorted to social media to clear up any confusion, posting a photo of herself signing 3,000 copies of her upcoming autobiography, This Is Me.
‘People wondering how it is I am able to sustain a certain lifestyle despite having financial ups and downs… Let me tell you it’s all comes from hard work, never giving up and fighting through,’ she wrote in the caption, according to the Mirror.
‘I’ve never been scared to graft and I’m not stopping now. Hard work will always pay off, tough times don’t last but tough people do!’
The TV personality, who is presently dating Married at First Sight’s JJ Slater, is also due to wrap up a live tour for The Katie Price Show, which will undoubtedly generate some revenue.
Last month, it was revealed that Katie was selling Mucky Mansion furniture on Facebook, including a crushed velvet sofa for £100, a set of dining room chairs and a table for £250, and two matching green chairs for £70.
In April, she was chastised for supposedly being sighted in Cyprus at a £760-a-night hotel with her lover rather than attending her most recent bankruptcy hearing.
She then stated that she had been cleared from court appearances.
‘The court knew that I wasn’t going to my bankruptcy [hearing], because mentally – my consultant at The Priory – I’ve been signed off for any kind of activity for court,’ she explained at the time.
‘I’m mentally not strong enough at the moment to stand in court, be cross examined in front of the media, in front of the public.’
She then explained that she was taking her financial predicament “very seriously.”
The media personality, who has moved into a new house after years of restoration and vandalism at her £13.5 million Mucky Mansion, has already experienced her first bout of difficulty.
She released footage from her doorbell camera of an unidentified man attempting to break into her home through the door handle. Katie has set up ’24-hour security’ on the property.
‘Anybody know who this is?’ she captioned the Instagram story post. ‘Attempting to break into my house.’
The footage comes from her ’24-hour security’ at the property, which was installed after the police visit and initial attacks.
