Model Kelly Brook is no stranger to wearing high-fashion attire, but she has recently admitted that she’d prefer be naked since she has a special issue with clothing.
The 44-year-old broadcaster has been quite candid about her body journey and the abuse she has experienced for being curvaceous in the competitive business.
Kelly, who is married to Jeremy Parisi, recently said that on a red carpet, a paparazzi member advised her to breathe in while posing for photos.
Despite receiving body-shaming comments, she maintains a good attitude towards her body and publishes stunning bikini photos — but now says she’d rather be naked.
‘I’ll just walk around naked with a feather boa,’ Kelly said as she promoted her podcast Life Gains with Big Narstie, 38.
While the Heart Radio anchor confesses that she does not always look her best, she avoids blaming her body for ill-fitting garments.
‘I look in the mirror naked, I love myself,’ Kelly shared. ‘And then I put on clothes and I’m like, well, that doesn’t show me at my best.
‘I always say I look better naked anyway. I just think the clothes are letting me down and that’s not my fault.
‘That’s the fault of designers, they’re not cutting it right.’
The fashion and modelling industries have been heavily condemned for their lack of inclusion for people of diverse body types, while actors are pressured to maintain a specific size.
Numerous celebrities, like Sharon Osbourne and Maisie Williams, have addressed their struggles with weight and how they used medications like Ozempic to lose weight.
Kelly, who has been a SlimFast ambassador with the rapper for several years, highlighted the importance of focusing on health rather than apparent thinness.
She continued: ‘I don’t set unrealistic goals either. I don’t want to look like I did when I was 21, I’m fine with who I am at 44.
‘But I want to look like a good 44-year-old. Healthy, energised, I want to get jump out of bed in the morning.’
Narstie, actual name Tyrone Lindo, agreed, citing his health concern as a significant impetus for his health journey, which he has shared for admirers on Instagram.
‘I couldn’t lift my legs up high. I couldn’t bend. It had been years since I’ve stretched,’ he confessed of his fitness before his collapse on Celebrity Bake Off in 2019.
Putting your path out there so publicly is not without consequences, as The Big Narstie Show host revealed his opinions on trolls who attempt to bring him and Kelly down.
He compared trolls to attention-seeking bad children, saying, ‘You have to understand the psychological component of why people say the things they do, and that conflict exists.
‘The internet gives everyone a chance to have an opinion, anonymously. When you’re dealing with someone who can say whatever they want, anonymously, you then can’t take in personally.’
Speaking about the new podcast, sponsored by SlimFast, Kelly added: ‘We’re talking to people that are possibly on the verge of collapse, or thinking, “I don’t want to go out anymore, because I don’t feel confident in my clothes”, or those people that are struggling mentally with like their day to day because of the way they are.
‘We’re saying, “This is how we were”, I had that trolling about my weight. Big Narstie had his collapse. These were the catalysts for us to get fit and healthy, and we’re better for it.
‘Don’t let that happen to you sort it out before that happens before you don’t need a catalyst.’
Kelly Brook and Big Narstie’s podcast Life Gains is out now, in collaboration with SlimFast.
