Kendall Jenner paid tribute to the viral moment that sent the internet into a frenzy over her cucumber-cutting technique.
She also showed fans she can pull off pretty much anything on Monday by dressing up as a slice of green veg for Halloween.
The veg outfit was of course, a nod to the infamous scene on the family’s reality show The Kardashians in which the 26-year-old struggled to cut up a cucumber.
Posing with a knife to her cheek and a huge slice of the vegetable across her body, fans caught a glimpse of the model’s sense of humour, months after she was widely mocked online for her inability to work with the very basic salad veg.
Kendall, of course, added fashionable accents to the costume, sporting green eyeshadow and liquid pantaleggings to match.
Capturing the iconic move, she snapped some styled shots for her Instagram profile.
Through the lens of Adrian Martin, she stood against a white backdrop and poked at her cheek with the point of a kitchen knife’s blade hammering home the butt of the joke.
Kendall then uploaded the photo with the caption: ‘i’m giving out fruits and veggies tonight.’ [SIC]
However, one post wasn’t enough so fans were also treated to an 18-second-long video where the star showed off her creation to the sound of a Mean Girls movie audio.
Making salad look like a high fashion campaign shoot, the model posed under ambient mood lighting and showed her smile to the camera.
Keeping things soft and simple, her minimal makeup was paired with a slicked-back ponytail, parted in the middle.
Despite making no reference herself to the scene the costume was inspired by, it is glaringly obvious the outfit choice was prompted by a moment captured during filming for season one of the Hulu reality series, which aired in May this year.
Kendall was in the kitchen making herself a snack when Kris Jenner noticed she was struggling to slice up a cucumber and called for the family’s private chef to intervene.
Fans on Twitter weren’t the only ones to rip the fashionista’s shortcomings, as her beauty mogul sister Kylie joined in, referring to her sibling as ‘cucumber girl’.
The costume reveal worked a treat as fans and celebrity friends rushed to the comment section to applaud the model’s handiwork.
Sister and Good American founder Khloe Kardashian wrote: ‘You win the award,’ as actor Milo Manheim weighed in congratulating the celebrity for being ‘self-aware’.
Fans weren’t so quick to let the star forget her costume’s origins however, with one writing: ‘Bet she still doesn’t know how to cut a cucumber tho.’ [SIC]
