Khloe Kardashian faced backlash from fans on social media after using an emoji of a person who isn’t white.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who has been scaling back her social media use for her daughter True, sent a string of emoji on Twitter of a woman making the face palm gesture.
Her followers noticed that the woman in the emoji she used wasn’t white.
‘Girl why did you choose those emojis?’ read one reply, while another responded: ‘You are a white woman.’
One follower wrote: ‘You disrespecting the culture on black history month’, referring to Black History Month in America.
‘That emoji isn’t for you’ read another reply.
One follower tweeted the emoji was ‘a little too dark’ and another tweeted white woman face palm emoji adding ‘Ur not black or a poc (sic)’.
However some argued that the emoji she used was for women with brown hair while others felt people were being too harsh.
‘It’s literally an emoji y’all be so miserable’ read one comment in Khloe’s defence.
Another tweet read: ‘Everything is a problem unfortunately…quite sad to see what people take offence to nowadays…’
‘She can use whatever emoji she wants! People need to take a chill pill already,’ said another fan.
The backlash comes after Khloe, 36, was praised for posting an unedited picture of her stretch marks on Instagram.
She captioned the shot: ‘I love my stripes’ adding a zebra emoji (which didn’t cause a ruckus, thankfully).
Kim recently shared photos with her daughters North and Chicago at the beach as she whisked them away for a break amid rumours she is set to divorce husband Kanye West.
