Kim Kardashian has added a new product to her Skims collection that we never knew we needed.
Days after launching her star-studded Skims Men collection, which included Neymar Jr. and Nick Bosa as models, the 43-year-old introduced a range of nipple bras to her original brand, as well as a stunning advertisement.
The ‘bold’ push-up bra will be available on October 31 and will have a ‘fake nipple for a perky braless look’, with 10% of sales going to charity.
She took to Twitter to release a cheeky 38-second short showcasing her new lingerie line in what is possibly the funniest advertising video yet.
‘The Earth’s temperature is getting hotter and hotter,’ she declared, from behind a computer probably last used in 1989. ‘The sea levels are rising. The ice sheets are shrinking.
‘And I’m not a scientist. But I do believe everyone can use their skillset to do their part. That’s why I’m introducing a brand-new bra with a built-in nipple.
‘So no matter how hot it is, you’ll always look cold. Some days are hard but these nipples are harder. And unlike the icebergs, these aren’t going anywhere.’
Yes, we’re not sure what’s going on either, but those nipple bras go on sale on October 31 and, let’s be honest, will probably sell out faster than Glastonbury tickets…
Some fans were perplexed by Kim’s new ad and believed it was a spoof for Saturday Night Live – and we can’t blame them.
‘This feels like it’s intended to be an SNL skit,’ one Twitter user said. Kim is hilarious.’
‘Thought this was an SNL skit for a second [sic],’ another agreed.
A follower penned: ‘This feels like that moment in Meal Girls when they cut holes into Regina’s bra and everyone starts doing it.’
While many others praised the Kardashians star’s stance, claiming that it was a ‘game changer’ for women who had undergone breast reconstruction.
‘Omggg Kim is a marketing icon [sic],’ a Twitter user praised, as a fan said: ‘This can be gender affirming, I’m really into it’
‘I’m sorry I need one in every color,’ a commenter pleaded.
‘It’s breast cancer awareness month. To be honest, this is perfect for trans women who are in transition or women who had a mastectomy/double mastectomy from breast cancer…,’ a social media follower added.
‘This is kinda genius if you think about it [sic].’
A statement from a Skims spokesperson confirming the launch read: ‘Ultimate Nipple Bra is a first of its kind innovation; a push-up bra so bold that it has never been done before. Skims Ultimate Nipple Bra provides perfect fullness with a built-in, faux nipple for a perky braless look.
‘It is the newest innovation to the revolutionary Skims Ultimate Bra collection of push-up bras designed with teardrop-shaped cups for natural-looking roundness and cleavage without spillage.’
If that wasn’t enough, the brand will also be donating 10% of sales to 1% for the Planet, an organization ‘working to support people and the planet’.
