Kim Kardashian’s palatial mansion has had a makeover for Christmas, but the stark white theme hasn’t gone down too well with most fans.
The $60million (£44.8million) home, which she and Kanye West, 43, completely renovated, has been bedecked with white stockings by the fireplace, a white snowy Christmas tree with two deer next to it and ‘cotton wool’ style trees in the hallways.
The only pops of bright colour within the home were the four red Elf on the Shelf dolls for each of the children – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm – who were ‘quarantined’ in mason jars due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Kim, 40, gave fans a glimpse of her living room on Instagram, where piano player Philip Cornish was playing Walking In A Winter Wonderland to wake the family up.
The Kardashian-West home in Los Angeles has been the subject of much discussion among fans since the family moved in, with them likening the vast empty spaces and white walls to a ‘morgue’ or a church.
The SKIMs founder’s festive additions were similarly divisive, with fans commenting: ‘I absolutely hate @KimKardashian home. It looks so sad and just so damn plain. No colors just everything simple even the Christmas décor.’
Others added: ‘not these cotton ball sculptures kim k put up as Christmas décor’ and ‘Kim Kardashian tries to flex her house as if her decor isn’t bland as hell. Her poor kids rooms are beige lol wtf.’
Others were loving the stripped-back design, writing: ‘Kim’s very plain Christmas aesthetic is beautiful’ and ‘can’t wait to get rich and live like @KimKardashian! She has everything she needs in her house & she always does the best decor for holidays.’
A source told E! News how the family will spend the holiday season this year, explaining: ‘They will be spending Christmas Eve with the family having a low-key get-together.
‘It won’t be like years past, but they will do something as a family and all be together.’
