Kimberly Wyatt has candidly opened up about what it was like to push herself to perform with the Pussycat Dolls, just weeks after giving birth via a C-section.
The dancer, 38, welcomed her third child – son Ford Senna – with husband Max Rogers in October last year.
A month later, Kimberly was seen performing live on The X Factor with the rest of the Pussycat Dolls, including Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts, after the girls announced plans for a reunion tour and released their latest single React.
Sharing a series of pictures leading up to that moment, Kimberly recently told fans that she had to ‘reach deep into her soul’ to be able to perform.
In an honest Instagram post, she explained how she felt ‘vulnerable’ following her cesarean and was ‘thankful’ that she was able to celebrate her body by taking to the stage.
Kimberly shared pictures of herself on stage at The X Factor, as well as candid post-partum selfies of her the night before her performance.
She wrote: ‘A little about this moment and the emotion captured in this pic!
‘Pic 1. This is the moment we finished our EPIC @pussycatdolls performance on @itv@thexfactor A tidal wave of relief, pride, and astonishment of what I personally had just accomplished. From C-Section to Pussycat Doll and the fact that WE did it! I love my girls and I was so grateful we made this happen together! I Love you guys!!!!! #sisterhood.’
Kimberly continued: ‘Pic 2., 3., 4. The pictures I took of my belly the night before X Factor. I was reaching deep into my soul to be brave enough to take the stage. I felt vulnerable!!! I felt weaker then I wanted to.
‘My boobs were full of milk, my tummy…well, basically my whole body still swollen, my organs still settling, my incision still healing and sensitive … but I was finding it in me to embrace who I was in that moment, finding love for this body and celebrating what a female body is capable of!!!
‘Thankful that in my lifetime the Dolls would believe in me and support my want to push forward and embrace this challenge and opportunity as a woman, as a performer and as a Pussycat Doll! @robinantin ?.’
Alongside a picture of The Pussycat Dolls following their performance on BBC’s The One Show, Kimberly said she ‘eventually found her fierce’ and was beginning to feel strong again.
‘5. I eventually found my fierce performing on @bbc@bbconeshow my leg tilt felt strong, the booty pops felt tenacious and my fire was burning bright, ready to tour the world…. ? ? ? (no idea at the time I was actually going into lockdown!!!) #coronavírus,’ she wrote.
Kimberly’s final photo was of her husband Max with the couple’s son.
‘6. @maxrogersuk and baby Senna. I am so lucky to have the most amazing partner. He helped me keep fit, healthy, safe and strong through the pregnancy via ‘Pilates with Max’, and during the recovery,’ she said.
‘He even filmed my journey from C-Section to Pussycat Doll from the hospital bed, taking my first steps to the leg tilt and he supported me each step of the way. Keeping time for breastfeeds, holding and taking care of Senna and being an absolute rock and hero in our lives backstage, in rehearsal, and at home whilst I did what felt destined to be. #grateful #motherhood #husband #family #teamworkmakesthedreamwork.’
Following the arrival of their third child, Kimberly revealed she has been sterilised and husband Max was planning on getting a vasectomy, as they don’t plan on having any more children.
