LadBaby mum Roxanne Hoyle breaks down over moment she struggled to pay for food

LadBaby mum Roxanne Hoyle broke down in tears recalling the moment she struggled to pay for her food shopping.

Roxanne and husband Mark, who create YouTube videos under the name LadBaby, are releasing charity single Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ this Christmas, with proceeds going to food bank network The Trussell Trust.

The mum-of-two told the story of how she found herself just 70p short at the till when shopping for their family.

Roxanne and Mark couple were living on £20 a week for food when times were at their toughest.

Roxanne recalled feeling panicked at the till when her food shop came to £20.70.

Becoming incredibly emotional she remembered how a stranger in the queue showed kindness by giving her the extra money.

She said: You wanna give your kids everything, you wanna put food on the table and stuff. At the time I was thinking, “thank you” and I just wanted to hug him. He was a stranger so I was just like thank you, I couldn’t say enough.

‘There’s nothing to be embarrassed of. People can say what they want.’

Mark added that they had ‘great family and friends’ supporting them also, but Roxanne said how she felt in that moment will always stay with her.

She went on: ‘I don’t want anyone to be at a checkout panicking or sitting at the dinner table watching their kids eat going “right they’re eating” and they’ve got nothing in front of them. There are a lot of people who don’t eat because they want to feed their kids. People can judge but I don’t want people to feel embarrassed because I’m not.

‘That’s why I want people to get the song, because 100 per cent of the profits go to The Trussell Trust.

‘When someone wakes up that day and can’t eat or hasn’t got family or a friend to help they can go, “I’ve gotta go to a food bank today” and that food bank is there.’

Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ is currently ahead in the race for Christmas number one, ahead of the likes of Jess Glynne and Liam Gallagher.

However it is facing stiff competition from comedy single Boris Johnson Is A F*****g C**t by Essex based band The K***s.
