Lauren Goodger has opened up about a sudden rift with her father, who she claims has stopped replying to her messages.
The Towie star is one of seven brothers and sisters and has endured a strained relationship with her parents since childhood.
However contact with her father appears to have abruptly ended recently leaving Lauren exasperated and confused.
In her latest new! magazine column, Lauren revealed: ‘I speak to my mum’s side and my sister and their kids but I WhatsApped my dad three weeks ago and he still hasn’t replied…
The reality star continued: ‘He unfollowed me on social media. I don’t understand their problems. It’s been like this for years. The more effort I make the more I feel like I’m being set up to fail.
‘He WhatsApped me on my birthday at 5.30pm and said, “Happy birthday kid”. I wasn’t even going to reply but I was in happy mode.’
Lauren was handed over to her father as a child when her mother battled postnatal depression and struggled to look after her.
The 34-year-old previously opened up about the estranged relationships in her large family and how it’s affected her romantic relationships over the years.
During an episode of Celebs Go Dating, Lauren explained: ‘[My mum] said she couldn’t cope with three on her own. For me that was heartbreaking.
Lauren was engaged to her fellow Towie star Mark Wright until their split in 2012. She’s now in a relationship with builder Charles Drury.
