Lewis Hamilton brings dog Roscoe to check out Bahrain’s International Circuit after record-equalling win

Lewis Hamilton decided it was bring your dog to work day, as he rocked up to Bahrain’s International Circuit with his beloved pooch Roscoe.

The Formula One ace, 35, arrived at the track ahead of the Bahrain Grand Pix, which is set to take place on Sunday, and his canine BFF seemed pretty chuffed to have bagged an invite.

Looking every inch the VIP, Lewis’ doggo was seen walking alongside him wearing a camouflage harness and, if you ask us, he definitely had a grin on his face.

Lewis, meanwhile, was his usual cool and collected self as he took in the grounds – following his seventh world championship win – while sporting a T-shirt from designer Massimo Giorgetti’s ‘environmentally conscious’ Fantastic Green collection.

The sports star continued his outfit’s pastel theme right down to his socks and trainers – donning shades and a black face mask too.

He and his dog Roscoe – who is now fully vegan – are pretty much inseparable, so it’s no surprise Lewis had his pup in tow while gearing up for his next race.

Obsessed with his dog, just like the rest of us, Lewis is often seen posting snaps of Roscoe to social media, including an account he had set up in honour of his pet.

Originally it was dedicated to both Roscoe and Lewis’ late bulldog Coco, who died aged six, earlier this year. Lewis was left ‘heartbroken’ over losing Coco, as he told fans he’d tried to revive her after she suffered a suspected heart attack.

She still features sometimes on Lewis’ Instagram page for his dogs, with a recent post paying tribute to Coco alongside a picture of her and Roscoe together.

It read: ‘Every day we miss Coco. Hard to fill the void she left but we still have her love with us ❤️.’

Lewis’ appearance in Bahrain comes after he was seen in tears after equalling Michael Schumacher’s F1 world title record.

He added another championship to his belt at the Turkish Grand Prix earlier this month, meaning he’s now on par with Schumacher’s record of seven world title wins.

Of the achievement, Lewis said: ‘I know often we say, or I say, it’s beyond my wildest dreams. But I think my whole life, secretly, I have dreamt as high as this. But it felt so farfetched.

‘I remember watching Michael winning those championships and all of us here, us drivers, are always doing the best job we can just to get one or two or even three… it’s so hard to get. So seven is just unimaginable.’

Lewis, however, vowed that he’s only ‘just getting started’ and is already setting his sights on his eighth.

The star is also celebrating being named GQ’s game changer of the year and will receive his award at the publication’s 2020 Men of the Year Awards that are set to take place virtually on Thursday.

He has been given the honour for his actions ‘both on and off the F1 circuit’, with his efforts to fight for racial equality in particular being highlighted.
