Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is a mum as she welcomes first baby with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: ‘Welcome to the world little one’

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards is a mum for the first time as she announced the birth of her first baby with boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Sweet Melody singer posted intimate black and white photos on her Instagram page of their little one shortly after they came into the world on August 21.

In one picture her child lies snuggled in a fluffy blanket, and in another the baby’s tiny foot rests in the palm of Alex’s hand.

Perrie, 27, said: ‘Welcome to the world baby 21/08/21’, with footballer Alex, also 27, adding on his own Instagram with the same photos: ‘Welcome to the world little one.’

He also added a heart warming picture of his hand entwined with his girlfriend’s, cradling their child’s foot.

The couple have not yet revealed the sex of their baby or the baby’s name.

Perrie and Alex made their pregnancy announcement on social media with stunning black and white photos of the couple, the singer’s baby bump on display.

She wrote alongside the adorable photos: ‘So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate.

‘Me + Him = You ?♥️ We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!’

Alex shared the same photos to his own page, writing: ‘Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? ? so grateful and excited to become a dad ❤️ bring on the sleepless nights.’

In June the popstar threw a fun-filled baby shower ahead of the birth which included huge balloon displays, teddy bears, a stunning three-tier cake and lots of sweet treats for guests to tuck into.

Perrie’s baby joy also came shortly after her band mate Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed she was also going to be a mum for the first time.

Appearing in a TikTok video, the Salute star revealed they discovered they were pregnant at the same time – during a work Zoom call. Very 2021.

Recalling the big moment Perrie said she and Leigh-Anne ‘cried their eyes out’ after realising they were both going to become mums.

‘We were on a work Zoom and we were chatting about things that were coming up in our schedule because in Little Mix we are blocked out two years in advance…,’ she explained.

‘I was thinking, “I won’t be able to do that.” I messaged my manager and she called me and said, “You’re pregnant.”

‘Then she said: “Can I add someone to the call?” I just heard this voice that said: “Perrie! You too!”

‘And then we just cried our eyes out. What timing!’
