Perrie Edwards has appealed to fans for advice after noticing changes to her hair after having her first child.
The Little Mix star, 28, took to her Instagram story to ask for an explanation as to why she was growing baby hairs at the front of her hairline five months after giving birth.
Pointing out the fresh growth, Perrie asked her followers: ‘I just wanna know, what’s with this hair?!’
Referencing the fact that postpartum hair loss is common after a pregnancy, Perrie continued: ‘Now, it could be growth from having the baby but he’s nearly five months now… so is this all going to fall out or is this just going to grow?
‘I don’t understand what it is. What is this?! It’s literally all through my hairline.’
Pulling a face at the tiny fringe she had created, Perrie added: ‘No guys, is this some sort of joke? I mean, I’m blessed that it hasn’t fallen out, but what is that?’
Fans were quick to respond to reassure her that the hair loss is to be expected and that it will eventually settle down in the coming months.
Due to hormonal changes, hair tends to get thicker and grow faster during pregnancy, which then reverses after birth meaning hair can feel thinner or shed more than usual.
Although everyone is different, the changes tend to level out about three to six months after birth when the hair will revert to how it was before pregnancy.
Perrie shares her son with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 28, and has treated fans to some rare glimpses of the adorable tot on her social media feed.
The singer has also shared several stunning maternity shots from the duration of her pregnancy, showcasing her bump.
