Louis Tomlinson’s sister shares throwback of him cradling son Freddie to celebrate tot’s fifth birthday

Louis Tomlinson’s sister shared a sweet throwback of the former One Direction star cradling his son Freddie to mark the tot turning five years old.

Louis, 29, shares son Freddie with ex Briana Jungwirth, 28, and Thursday marked the little guy’s birthday, with Louis’ sister Lottie Tomlinson celebrating his big day on Instagram.

She was seen posting rare pictures of Freddie to her Instagram story, including a sweet black and white photo of Louis holding a little Freddie, back when he was a newborn, alongside the star’s late mum Johannah Deakin.

In the picture, Louis and his mum – who died aged 43 from leukaemia in December 2016 – are flashing huge smiles, as he holds onto his bundle of joy. Lottie penned a heart across the photo.

She shared another of Freddie smiling and wished the youngster happy birthday, writing: ‘Happy 5 birthday Freddie. Lots of love from Auntie Lottie.’

‘Love you always special baba,’ she added alongside a picture of her and Freddie together.

Freddie’s mum Briana posted a cute birthday tribute to her boy and said he is the ‘best thing that’s ever happened to me’.

Alongside a series of pictures of Freddie over the years, Briana penned: ‘I spent the morning reminiscing Freddie’s baby photos in tears. I can’t believe he is 5 today.

‘Time has flown by. Goes to show how important it is to cherish each day. Happy Birthday to my baby, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’

Louis is known for being pretty private when it comes to Freddie, as well as his personal life, and rarely posts about either on social media – although, he has touched on what it’s like being a dad in the past.

Speaking in 2019 during an appearance on Lorraine, Louis said: ‘‘It’s the responsibility side of things that has made the process a bit easier for me. When I’m with him it’s just one of those things where you feel so much love, it doesn’t matter what’s going on that’s all you’re thinking about.’

Louis comes from a big family and is a brother to four sisters; make-up artist Lottie, 22, twins Daisy and Phoebe, 16, and Félicité, who died aged 18 following an accidental overdose in 2019.

Opening up about losing his mum and sister, Louis said that having to deal with his grief has given him strength in other areas of his life.

‘That whole dark side I’ve gone through, it sounds stupid to say, but it gives me strength everywhere else in my life, because that’s the darkest sh*t that I’m going to have to deal with,’ Louis told The Guardian.

‘So it makes everything else, not feel easier and not less important, but, in the grand scheme of things, you see things for what they are, I suppose.’

‘There’s no time for me to be sat feeling sorry for myself. I’ve been to rock bottom and I feel like, whatever my career’s going to throw in front of me, it’s going to be nothing as big or as emotionally heavy as that,’ Louis insisted.

‘So, weirdly, I’ve turned something that’s really dark into something that empowers me, makes me stronger.’
