Louise Redknapp has revealed her children are encouraging her to date again after their father Jamie recently remarried.
The former Eternal singer, 47, shared that her sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, are constantly asking her when she’s going to get back out there.
‘They always say “When are you going to [date]?’ she explained in a new interview. ‘All my boys care about is me being happy – whatever that is’.
However Louise has no plans for romance right now, as she says her priority is work, as well as ‘being a mum and stocking up the fridge’.
She told Fabulous magazine she wants to be ‘a solid part of [her kids’] life’ and ‘right now, that’s enough for me’.
The singer-songwriter and her children are ‘so close, they know everything about me – good, bad and ugly.
‘They’re my best friends in the world.’
TV presenter Louise insisted that she is currently ‘learning to just be OK with myself’.
‘I’m not loving myself, but I’ve been OK. I’m getting there.’
While Charley and Beau are her priority, the star told the publication that her eldest son is considering going to university in America next year, which has her ‘really worried’.
But for now they are making memories together, with both boys recently at the front row of Louise’s musical 9 to 5, which is currently showing in London.
Louise’s comments come as her ex-husband, Jamie Redknapp, recently remarried.
The former couple split in 2017, and last month the footballer, 48, married Swedish model Frida Andersson, 38, who is pregnant with his child.
The singer has been open about the breakdown of her marriage, and has previously admitted she regrets leaving Jamie after her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
The star wrote in her new book, You’ve Got This, that she ‘hurt a lot of people’ by appearing on the dancing competition, and suggested that she ‘wouldn’t have walked away’ from her marriage if she hadn’t been in the competition.
Louise’s ex Jamie married new wife Frida in an ‘intimate’ ceremony in October, with Charley and Beau present as his best men.
The football star took to Instagram to share black and white snaps of him and his pregnant wife at the altar and smiling amid the speeches.
He told his followers: ‘We wanted to share some moments from our special day. It was a very small intimate wedding with friends and family.’
Their wedding is said to have come as a surprise to Louise, who is claimed to have found out when Jamie wanted to have his sons Charley and Beau enter the register office with him.
