Anna Vakili has warned fans that coronavirus is ‘no joke’ after she tested positive for the disease along while her whole family has also fallen ill.
The Love Island star is currently self-isolating at her London flat with sister Mandi and their parents, who have all contracted Covid-19.
In an Instagram photo, Anna is partially seen under the covers in bed looking poorly. She wrote in the caption: ‘This corona s**t is not a joke. Been bed bound for days and now been tested positive so has Mandi.’
Her younger sister detailed their health scare in her Instagram stories while resting in bed with her mother, who can be heard coughing in the background occasionally.
Revealing they’ve been ill for nearly a week, Mandi explained: ‘Me and Anna both got tested for Covid. I’m not that bad, I’m OK to be honest. I had one night that was bad. Other than that it’s like a regular cold that I’m dealing with.
‘To be honest it’s not actually my worst cold. I’ve had way worse colds. Anna’s been really bad, she’s been completely bed bound.
‘Me, Anna, my mum and dad are all isolating right now at me and Anna’s place because my parents were staying at mine before tier four got announced. We’ve all got symptoms now, we’re all isolating.’
Inviting her mother into the video, Mandi, 28, revealed her surprise that Anna, 30, is suffering more with Covid-19 than their mum who has underlying conditions.
‘I was really worried about my mum,’ she admitted, adding: ‘She’s got symptoms but she’s actually doing a lot better than Anna. She’s got diabetes, blood pressure and all sorts of underlying illnesses so we’re really worried about her, but she seems to be doing alright.’
Sharing how their Christmas and New Year’s plans are ruined, Mandi went on: ‘Before tier four got announced I had Dubai booked for New Year’s Eve with my cousin and my sister.
‘We were going to have Christmas with the whole family at mine so basically Dubai got cancelled, New Year’s Eve got cancelled, Christmas party is basically cancelled because my cousin’s also basically got it.
‘So pretty s**t right now. Sick all of us and doing all these home remedies to feel better.’
Mandi then shared a photo of her mum bending over a pot on the cooker to ‘steam her sinuses’ with peppermint and thyme.
Earlier this year, Anna returned to work at her pharmacy to help the NHS during the first wave of the pandemic.
