Love Island star Lucie Donlan urges people to ‘move on’ as she gets ‘death threats’ in wake of Yewande Biala row

Love Island star Lucie Donlan has urged people to ‘move on’ from her row with fellow islander Yewande Biala which erupted on social media after Lucie claimed she was ‘bullied’ on the show in 2019.

Old Instagram comments Lucie had made resurfaced on Reddit as she responded to a YouTube video in which Yewande suggested she was a ‘horrible person’.

Responding to a fan the reality TV star said ‘She’s always bullied me, I’m not bothered about her opinion…makes her look bad. Not sure where she said that though!’

Yewande furiously fired back on Twitter, claiming Lucie had ‘refused to call me by my name because it was too “hard to pronounce”‘, with fellow islanders Amber Gill, who won their series two years ago, and Amy Hart coming to her defence.

Lucie has now spoken out after receiving ‘death threats’ over their public spat, saying her Instagram comments were unearthed to ‘incite a row between two females’.

She told MailOnline: ‘In this day and age and with everything going on in the world, we should all be sticking together not attacking each other.

‘I’ve been sent death threats which are incredibly scary as you can imagine.’

Lucie also confessed she ‘had trouble’ with pronouncing her co-star’s name and asked if she could use a nickname instead ‘as a term of endearment’.

She went on: ‘There’s nothing sinister to it.

‘I regret how just a few old comments sent 18 months ago has snowballed like this and got out of hand, and drummed up some needless negativity.

‘Can we all just move on from this please?’

Lucie has claimed she was ‘bullied’ by other girls in the villa before, but did not name anyone. It is unknown if she was talking about Yewande at the time.

She told The Sun after leaving the villa of an incident around the time she expressed interest in islander Tommy Fury despite him making it clear he liked Molly-Mae Hague.

The surfer, who is now dating Love Island star Luke Mabbott, said: ‘There was one night when I was really upset, because the girls had drilled it into Joe that I shouldn’t be spending all this time with Tommy.

‘He came to talk to me about it but I was more upset by what they had done. After that, I didn’t really want to speak to them because I felt I couldn’t trust them enough. I thought if I did, they might b***h about me behind my back.

‘I can remember sitting there crying and thinking, “Will it be like this all the way through? Oh God, I won’t be able to cope with that”. Love Island was meant to be fun.

‘All I wanted was to have a laugh and try to find a boyfriend. But those girls are not like me. They like drama. It was like being in a school playground. I felt really alone and I didn’t know who I could talk to.’
