Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has revealed a look at one of her scars following her endometriosis surgery, saying that her stomach is ‘not fully back to normal’.
Last month, the 22-year-old detailed the ‘tough recovery’ she endured after undergoing an operation following her endometriosis diagnosis, saying that it was ‘way, way harder to go through’ than she thought it would be.
In a new video shared on her YouTube channel, the influencer showed a scar on her stomach while trying on different sportswear outfits.
Endometriosis is a long-term condition for which there’s no cure, where tissue that’s similar to the lining of the womb grows in other parts of the body, such as the ovaries of the fallopian tubes.
It can lead to severe, debilitating pain, with many women struggling to be formally diagnosed.
In her video, Molly-Mae lowered her leggings to show a scar on her tummy, saying: ‘So my stomach is still fully not back to normal from my endometriosis operation.’
She continued: ‘I don’t know if you can see but I’ve got my – you can’t really see from there, maybe I’ll zoom in – that’s just like one of the little scars from when they went into my stomach.’
The reality star, who was on Love Island in 2019, explained that she has additional scars that she isn’t going to show on camera.
‘They obviously went under my belly button as well and lower down, but I don’t really think you want to see my vagina so I won’t show you those ones,’ she said.
She added that while she doesn’t need to ‘justify’ why her ‘stomach doesn’t look extra toned today’, ‘that is why’.
Last month, Molly-Mae and her boyfriend Tommy Fury were victims of a burglary at their home in Manchester, with the robbers reportedly getting away with £800,000 worth of their possessions.
While speaking about the incident in a YouTube video, she said that it was the ‘worst thing’ that ever happened to them, admitting that she felt ‘guilty for being robbed’.
‘But I think seeing a lot of things on social media and seeing a lot of people’s opinions about why we were robbed, I started to feel like, God was this my fault? Do I share too much? Did I do the wrong thing?’ she said at the time.
