We all know how much Chris loves a good TikTok and there’s pretty much nothing he won’t do for a few likes on the ‘gram, including donning heels and dancing to Beyoncé down Loughton high street or attempting to do the splits between two moving vehicles.
But, his latest video will arguably be his most-watched yet as it sees him and Maura getting up close and personal and nearly locking lips.
Chris called it the ‘kiss your best friend challenge’ and it saw the former islander recreate the Dirty Dancing lift with Maura – after whipping his T-shirt off, of course.
He then lowers her back down, with his arms wrapped around her and goes in for the lunge, but only for her to then push him away.
However, what came next had fans convinced that Chris and Maura – who say things are purely platonic between them – are actually a thing.
You see, the camera might freeze on Chris getting pied by his so-called BFF, but it then shows Maura quickly running back to Chris and looking like she’s going in to give him a smooch after all.
‘Wait…..WHATTTT??,’ commented Love Island’s Joseph Garratt on Chris’ video and, tbh, that’s our thoughts exactly.
As fans flocked to the comments to speculate over whether Chris and Maura are in fact boyfriend and girlfriend, their celebrity pals did nothing to dispel the rumours.
‘Love this ♥️,’ wrote Towie star Pete Wicks, while Love Island 2018 star Georgia Steele posted: ‘CUTE ALLERT ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️’
Joanna Chimonides joined in by adding: ”LOVE THISSSSSSS,’ and then Maura popped up too, posting: ‘Stop trying to kiss your best friend ??.’
That was all it took to send fans into overdrive, with one frustrated follower writing: ‘How can you cut it off like that bro, we all saw her go back in for that kiss you can’t fool us.’
One more posted: ‘Nah these challenges have to stop. You two are playing with my feelings?,’ as another claimed: ‘She definitely came back to kiss you.’
Both Chris and Maura have addressed claims they are dating in the past and assured fans they are just good friends.
In July, Chris appeared on Vicky Pattison’s podcast The Secret To and while she told him she shipped him and Maura, he insisted that the pair just don’t see each other like that.
‘We’ve never really thought about it like that, we’re just super close mates. We care about each other, we look out for each other, we basically bully each other,’ he said.
‘I don’t think we ever say anything nice to each other’s faces, but that’s our banter. She’s Irish and it’s the Irish banter and that’s my kind of banter. If you were around us together you’d think, “these two f**king hate each other,” we don’t,’ Chris explained.
‘We like each other and the thing is, it’s never been something that’s crossed our minds and it wouldn’t happen for the fact that we don’t want to ruin our friendship. We don’t see each other that way. We’re platonic as they say, platonic friends.’
Both Chris and Maura shot to fame on ITV2 dating Love Island in 2019. While Maura found love with ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard on the show, Chris coupled up with Harley Brash and the pair briefly dated.
