Love Island’s Christopher Taylor jokes girlfriend Maura Higgins ‘hasn’t dumped him yet’ on Dubai holiday

Love Island stars Christopher Taylor and Maura Higgins are clearly still in the honeymoon phase of their relationship – even jetting off to Dubai for their first holiday together as a couple.

Fans have been hooked on their loved-up posts from their sun-soaked getaway, with Chris seen championing himself for not scaring away his missus just yet.

The pair chose to go Instagram official just before Maura’s 30th birthday and at the beginning of their Dubai holiday – finally putting an end to months of speculation over whether they were dating.

Chris, who’s become known for his witty social media posts, shared a gorgeous snap of girlfriend Maura as the pair enjoyed dinner together.

She looked just lovely in a polka dot number and taking a snap of his gal, Chris shared it with fans and wrote: ‘Hasn’t dumped me yet,’ while adding a party popper emoji.

In the words of Shaughna Phillips: ‘Congrats, hun.’

The pair had kept us guessing when it came to their romance, with both Maura and Chris repeatedly denying they were romantically involved and insisting their relationship was just platonic.

One TikTok video of them almost kissing was all it took for fans to call their bluff and Maura and Chris finally decided to out themselves as a couple once and for all.

They shared the same photo of them cuddled up together in front of a dreamy skyline, with Maura captioning her Instagram post with: ‘He’s mine.’

Chris shared the same adorable snap and told fans: ‘Turns out I fell in love with my best mate @maurahiggins ♥️

The duo are currently holidaying with their fellow Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

All four former islanders had starred on Love Island’s 2019 series, which was eventually won by (now exes) Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – who beat runners-up Molly and Tommy to the £50,000 cash prize.

While on the show, Maura and Chris never really explored a romantic connection, instead forming a firm friendship that has now blossomed into their very own love story.

Viewers instead saw Maura get together with ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard – who she split from in March – while Chris enjoyed a brief relationship with Harley Brash.
