Jack Fowler has shared a heartbreaking tribute to his friend Kevin Smith, with the Love Islander breaking down in tears speaking on his death in Ibiza.
Smith, 35, is thought to have been drowned while swimming in a cove near the popular resort of San Antonio, on Wednesday evening.
According to Mail Online, he came into difficulty while trying to take photos underwater, with his friend raising the alarm around 6.15pm. Police and paramedics attended the scene but were unable to save his life after pulling him from the water.
In an emotional video shared to Instagram, Jack soon broke down in tears telling his followers about Smith and encouraging people to donate to a GoFundMe in order to bring Smith’s body back to the UK.
‘Yesterday I lost one of my boys. Kevin. He was one of the boys that always enjoyed life,’ Jack said in the clip.
Soon breaking down in tears, the heartbroken reality star went on: ‘He passed away yesterday through a snorkeling accident.’

Jack added: ‘He passed in Ibiza so we need to get him back. I know the family and friends and everyone who met him would be eternally grateful if we could help get him home. Anyone who met Kevin knew he just loved life.’
He wrote alongside a series of photos with Smith: ‘I feel broken hearted with knowing [you’re] not here anymore Kev.
‘I remember when I first met you I knew you were going to be in my life for a long time. I told you many times that people like you are so rare to find and that anyone who met you or had you in their life was extremely lucky.
‘We have so many memories together that I honestly will cherish for rest of my life.
‘I love you bro and I feel completely empty inside knowing I’m not going to see your piercing blue eyes, infectious smile or hear [your] contagious laugh anymore. I’m so sorry that it’s happened like this.
‘I really love you bro and I miss you so much already.’
The GoFundMe has so far amassed £37,000, which is well past the £20,000 goal, with stars including Jack’s Love Island co-star Josh Denzel as well as Michelle Keegan donating.
According to the page, travel restrictions due to the pandemic have meant there are ‘complications with his family going to get him and bringing him home’. It added any further donations will be put towards Smith’s memorial.
