Maura Higgins has revealed how she gets over the heartache of a break-up after she split with Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice.
The Love Island beauty, 31, and professional dancer fell into a whirlwind relationship earlier this year, confirming they were a couple in July.
But despite reports that the pair were blissfully happy together, and were even planning to move in together, claims that the couple had split began to emerge in October.
Gio has since been flat-out competing with Rose Ayling-Ellis in this series of Strictly – with the couple tipped to win the competition.
Meanwhile, Maura has been focusing on her modelling career, meeting up with old friends including her former Love Island co-stars, and enjoying breaks away with loved ones.
She has now revealed that all of these things helped her to deal with her break-up.
The Dancing On Ice star took to Instagram stories where she invited her 3million followers to take part in a Q&A, where she answered questions on everything from her favourite perfume to what she did for her birthday.
One fan, likely going through the same thing and hoping for advice, asked: ‘Best way to get over a break up?’
Maura responded that it was best to ‘allow yourself to grieve’.
‘Spend time with the people you love & always remind yourself that everything happens for a reason!!!
She added: ‘The people who want to be in your life will be in your life!!’
Maura’s rules for a break-up come months after her split from Gio, with a source suggesting at the time that Maura was ‘blindsided’ by his decision to end the relationship.
However, the choreographer later insisted there was ‘no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation.’
Giovanni is currently believed to be single.
