Michelle Keegan is about done with the constant questions about when she will have a baby with husband Mark Wright, noting the double standards when it comes to fertility.
The Our Girl actress has been married to the former Towie star since 2015 and has been enjoying life as husband and wife without children so far.
Whether they’ll expand their family is the number one question Michelle, 33, is asked by outsiders but she highly doubts Mark, also 33, gets the same line of questioning.
Speaking to Women’s Health UK, Michelle explained: ‘I do think it’s different for a woman. It shouldn’t be, but it is. I get asked about children whereas Mark wouldn’t, for example. Why haven’t I had a child?
‘When am I going to have a child? I don’t know what they want me to say. I don’t know what the right or wrong answer is.’
The couple are typically private about their marriage and rarely shares photos of each other on social media.
Michelle said it’s a conscious choice to keep parts of their relationship away from the public eye.
‘A lot of things in my life are out of my control, but one thing I do have control over is my social media and I like to try and keep some memories private,’ she explained.
The former Coronation Street star continued: ‘Over the years we’ve opened ourselves up to a lot of criticism, so it’s nice to have something just for us. I don’t want to feed the stories anymore. Turning 30 really changed my perspective on things – I’ve grown as a person and I’m a lot more confident now.’
Mark and Michelle whisked themselves off on a summer break in July and spent time relaxing in Ibiza and Marbella during the coronavirus pandemic. They looked completely smitten with each other as they enjoyed date nights and fun activities such as paddleboarding.
They’ve got exciting times coming up next year with Mark’s sister Jess Wright set to marry her partner William Lee-Kemp after getting engaged in the French Alps in March.
Michelle will be a bridesmaid after Jess popped the question to her sister-in-law by leaving a bouquet of flowers outside her door in lockdown.
