Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet hits back at trolls claiming he’s too old for fiancée Lindsay Schweitzer

Eric Stonestreet has joked about trolls claiming he’s ‘too old’ for his fiancée Lindsay Schweitzer.

The Modern Family actor – who announced his engagement to his 41-year-old partner over the weekend – has edited photos of them both to make the pediatric nurse appear older after critics commented on their age gap.

Taking to Instagram, he quipped: ‘Apparently a lot of people think I look too old, as a 49 year old man, to be engaged to my almost 42 year old fiancée.

‘Look, she can’t help that she looks so great at 42 and I can’t help that I apparently look like her grandad so, I fixed it for everyone.

‘#engaged #love #engagedlife #herlifeforever #imfunny #shesaidyestothis (sic)’.

The actor – who is best known for playing Cameron Tucker – and his partner Lindsay are to wed after he popped the question to the pediatric nurse, and he joked her people would ‘call my people’ for an answer.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘She said, “She’d have her people call my people.”‘

The Loft star shared three snaps of himself and Lindsay, who showed off her sparkling engagement ring in the photos.

Several stars were quick to congratulate the happy couple on social media. as Shazam! actor Zachary Levi wrote: ‘Congrats duuuuuuuuuuude!!! (sic)’.

commented: ‘YES.

In August 2017, it was first reported Eric and nurse Lindsay were dating after spending time together at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event in Kansas City in June.

Eric was previously romantically involved with Broadway star Katherine Tokarz for nearly three years until 2012.
