Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have been criticised for not wearing masks on their romantic Dubai getaway.
The couple recently jetted over to Dubai for 10 days, where they reunited with Love Island co-stars Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor, before heading to the Maldives.
The 21-year-old gave fans a glimpse into their holiday in her latest vlog, entitled ‘Dubai vlog: The best time with my best friend’, showing every step of the trip.
Molly-Mae started the footage with a clip of herself and her boxer beau, 21, in their first class seats on the plane, with their masks not on properly.
They were seen not wearing masks in public spaces, including around their hotel and restaurants, and in a taxi.
While Chris and Maura covered their faces as they left a swanky dinner, Molly-Mae and Tommy did not.
The official guidelines for Dubai states ‘social distancing and the wearing of face masks is mandatory when away from your home.
‘This also applies to visitors staying in hotels when they are not in their room.’
Upset fans flocked to the comments section of her vlog to voice their fury at the clips.
‘I really enjoy your vlogs but if you’re going to travel during a global pandemic please, at the bare minimum, wear your masks properly,’ one urged.
A follower asked: ‘Why are u pulling down your mask to speak on plane? Secondly i love you guys but you look hella privlidged standing around when others are wearing masks and yous are not. Dissapointing. [sic].’
‘Why were they not wearing masks anywhere? Not even properly on the plane or in the taxis??,’ a viewer questioned.
‘I like Molly-Mae but I cant watch this video. I don’t even want to support her channel by commenting but this is so so so unacceptable to me!! Traveling and not even wearing masks during a pandemic? I really expected better from her,’ another fumed.
A YouTube user replied: ‘Why they not wearing face masks? People in the background are wearing them. These are setting such bad examples, God.’
‘This blog should be called “watching me and my boyfriend not wear masks most of the time whilst in Dubai”,’ a commenter suggested. ‘Literally everyone around was wearing masks and then they weren’t.’
As one added: ‘I could barely watch a minute of this video. I find it very uncomfortable watching a person taking their mask off when on a plane.’
The video comes as Molly-Mae defended her trip to the Maldives – which came after Boris Johnson announced a new tier four across various areas in the UK.
Insisting they had done nothing wrong by travelling, she stated on her Instagram stories: ‘In response to the messages I’m already getting about us being away throughout this time…
‘Please understand that Tommy and I left the UK from Cheshire which was in Tier 2 at the time. We didn’t break any rules coming away.
‘If we knew these rules were going to be put in place then obviously we would have never left the UK.
‘The minute we arrive home we will be following government guidelines.’
