Molly-Mae Hague has urged her followers to check their breasts, after finding a ‘small lump’ and undergoing a biopsy.

The Love Island star explained in a recent vlog that she had undergone a biopsy after doctors found a fibroadenoma in her boob.

The 22-year-old said: ‘I found a small lump in my boob – I literally feel like a walking health disaster at the moment. I don’t want you guys to think I’m a hypochondriac.’

She explained that since exercising more and eating more healthily, she is ‘very aware of when things change’, so got the lump checked out.

Molly-Mae said: ‘It was completely fine, completely benign. It’s a little thing called a fibroadenoma… it’s a really normal thing to get at this age. Small lumps can happen all the time, it doesn’t mean they’re sinister.’

A fibroadenoma is a common type of benign breast condition, characterised by a lump in the breast which is smooth to the touch and moves easily under the skin.

Simple fibroadenomas do not increase the risk of developing breast cancer in the future, while complex fibroadenomas can very slightly increase the risk of developing breast cancer in the future.

The star went on to say that she has got a biopsy as the lump as grown slightly.

Molly-Mae continued: ‘I went back today to get it checked and it had grown a little bit, again, it doesn’t mean it’s sinister, it doesn’t mean it’s dramatic, so the doctor recommended that we did a biopsy.

‘It was not very nice actually considering I’m afraid of needles, but I thought there’s not really a way around this.

‘I promise it’s nothing serious, I don’t want it to be a massive thing. I think it’s important that I share this with you guys.

‘It’s an important subject and we should all be checking our boobs and checking for lumps so we can do things like this.’

She added that she would share the results of the biopsy when she got them.

Molly-Mae – who has been in a relationship with boxer Tommy Fury for two years – previously encouraged fans to get their moles checked, after discovering that a mole on her leg was a malignant melanoma, a type of skin cancer.

The reality star’s YouTube subscribers applauded her for being so open about her health issues on her channel.

In past videos, Molly-Mae has discussed her endometriosis diagnosis, after suffering from ‘excruciating periods’.

This video came just before the announcement that at the tender age of 22, Molly-Mae is the new UK/EU creative director for fashion brand PrettyLittleThing.

The star, who has produced edits with the brand since leaving Love Island in 2019, wrote on Instagram: ‘This is the biggest move in my career so far and I can’t explain my gratitude to my favourite brand in the world for trusting me with this role.

‘PLT have had faith in me from the VERY start and to now be a Director within the business feels like a complete dream come true. I hope you’re all ready for my visions to come to life within this incredible brand.’
