Myleene Klass shares heartbreak over four miscarriages that left her ‘broken’ and ‘too scared’ to drink water and go to the toilet

Myleene Klass has opened up about the pain caused by her four miscarriages

Myleene Klass has opened up about suffering four devastating miscarriages that left her ‘broken’ and ‘in a spiral of absolute terror,’ too frightened to even drink water.

The singer, 43, has three children, and recalled the heartbreak of losing a pregnancy.

Speaking to Psychologies Magazine, Myleene touched on her third miscarriage, which happened whilst she was on the air, hosting her Smooth Radio show.

After going to the toilet, the presenter returned to finish her show because she ‘didn’t know what else to do.’

‘I didn’t want to go home because I was going to have to deliver the news and break the magic,’ she confessed.

Myleene later gave herself little chance to grieve and rushed back to normality following the tragedy.

‘Life doesn’t stop and I took my daughter to dance class as soon as I got back,’ she added.

‘There was no time to catch my breath because I have children who rely on me and who I need to protect.’

The former Hear’Say star shared the lasting effects of the miscarriage, saying it made her terrified to need the toilet in case she saw blood again, so she wouldn’t drink water.

She said: ‘I remember the despair, grief and anger. And the panic. But it wasn’t until I looked back at my diaries that I realised how broken I was.’

Describing her ‘rainbow baby’ – a term for a child born to a family that has previously lost a child due to stillbirth, miscarriage or death during infancy – Myleene joked Apollo, two, ‘was the most photographed baby in history’ whom she had numerous check-ups for to check he was healthy.

The star also shares two daughters, Ava, 14, and Hero, 10, from her previous relationship with Graham Quinn, with Apollo being her first child with her fiancé Simon Motson. The couple announced their engagement in September 2020.

Myleene, who last year opened up about having four miscarriages, is to front a documentary titled Myleene Klass: Miscarriage & Me on W.

She wants to openly discuss her own experiences to dismantle the taboo and stigma surrounding miscarriages, and encourage others to talk about their feelings.

‘It can’t go on being the big dark secret that we have to carry around,’ she said.

‘I needed to make this because I needed to watch this. After my miscarriages I had to try and find some answers, some peace, some solidarity with people who’ve been through it too.’

She admitted ‘feeling alone’ is the ‘defining feeling’ of miscarriage, which she doesn’t want for anyone else.

The hour-long film will feature the model reading from a diary she kept during the difficult time to process her trauma.

Women from around the UK will also tell their stories, including Myleene’s own friends and family.

Myleene: Miscarriage & Me will air on W channel during Baby Loss Awareness Week in October.
