Netflix UK has confirmed its new releases for the month of April, so grab your popcorn people.

A whole host of new movies will be dropping on the streaming platform throughout the month of April that are worthy of a first watch or a re-run.

As usual, a whole host of original Netflix movies will finally be available to watch, as well as a bunch of film classics over the years like Tom Hanks’ 2001 movie Castaway.

Concrete Cowboy

Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin stars alongside Idris Elba in Concrete Cowboy, written and directed by Ricky Straub. It follows a young boy (McLaughlin) as he moves from Detroit to Philadelphia to live with his estranged father (Elba) in Philadelphia.

Concrete Cowboy lands on Netflix on April 2.

Thunder Force

Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer are teaming up for Thunder Force – a superhero comedy that centres around two best friends who reunite and end up fighting crime together, after one of them accidentally invents a formula that gives ordinary people superpowers.

Jason Bateman also stars in the upcoming film that’s released on April 9.

Stowaway is a sci-fi thriller starring Anna Kendrick and Toni Collette. A four-person crew find themselves forced to make an impossible choice when the life support is damaged as an unplanned passenger jepoardises the lives of everyone on board.

Daniel Dae Kim and Shamier Anderson also star. Fans can view Stowaway from April 22.

The movie centres around a young artist (Seyfried) who moves to a small town with her husband (Norton), but starts to suspect that their new home’s history has a dark secret.

Things Heard and Seen drops at the end of the month on April 30.

Of course, plenty of already released movies will be landing on Netflix too next month, with fans able to tuck into not only Castaway, but Shrek 1 and Shrek 2, The Borrowers, The Time Traveller’s Wife, starring Rachel McAdams, and 1996 classic Twister.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1988 blockbuster hit Red Heat arrives on Netflix UK, as well as 2004 film Collateral – starring Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx and Mark Ruffalo – and 1993 movie In the Name of the Father, with Daniel Day-Lewis and Emma Thompson.

More recent releases include Oscar-winning movie A Star Is Born, featuring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, Sir Elton John’s biopic Rocketman and Sara Paulson’s 2020 horror Run.
