If you’re going to date a Little Mix star, then you’ve got to have every single one of the band’s tracks downloaded onto your phone, right? Right, according to Perrie Edwards.
The singer, 27, was seen hilariously calling out her boyfriend of four years Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Instagram, after she found out he hadn’t downloaded Little Mix track No Time For Tears.
Perrie had stolen the footballer’s phone and was seen buying every version of the girlband’s latest single Sweet Melody to secure the song a number one in this week’s chart race.
It was reported on Sunday by the Official Charts, that Little Mix are currently on track to nab the top spot, so naturally Perrie was doing everything she could to ensure the girls get their number one – because y’now every download counts.
As she shared footage of her scrolling through her boyfriend’s Apple Music app to her Instagram story, Perrie joked: ‘I took Alex’s phone…’
It was then that she realised Alex hadn’t yet purchased No Time For Tears and, well, Pezza wasn’t happy.
She shared a second video with fans, which saw her swipe back after realising the track hadn’t been downloaded and a disappointed Perrie could be heard questioning her boyfriend’s love for her.
‘Oh Alex, do you love me?’ an annoyed Perrie moaned, as Alex explained himself and told her that he has No More Tears on his Spotify account instead.
‘Alex: I’ve got that one on Spotify,’ Perrie captioned her video, along with a series of crying laughing emoji.
Perrie and Alex have been together since 2016 and she recently revealed that she would ‘definitely say yes’ if the sports star proposes to her.
While keen to marry Alex, Perrie did point out that the pair are in no rush to head down the aisle.
‘You know what, I appreciate him, we don’t want to rush into it,’ she revealed during an interview on Capital FM. ‘But it would be a definitely yes from me, I reckon!’
Perrie’s latest Instagram story comes as Little Mix are navigating their way as a three, after Jesy Nelson decided to quit the band.
Jesy revealed that after nine years she was leaving Little Mix in order to focus on her mental health, explaining in a statement: ‘The truth is recently being in the band has really token a toll on my mental health.
‘I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard. There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’
Perrie, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have supported Jesy’s decision and reassured fans that they will be continuing as a trio, following her exit.
‘After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy. We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being,’ the girls said.
‘We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over. We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us. We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour. Love always, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne xxx.’
