Peter Crouch teaches Camila Cabello how to do a perfect robot and we’re here for it

Did anyone have Peter Crouch giving Camila Cabello dance lessons on their 2022 bingo card? No?

In a frankly amazing moment, the former England international and Masked Dancer judge met up with the Bam Bam hitmaker on the eve of her UEFA Champions League Final performance and give her some tips on doing the robot.

Whether you love football or can’t stand the beautiful game, Crouchy’s dance moves are the stuff of legend, so it only seems fitting he was on hand to chat to Camila before her big moment.

‘So Camila, I’m not sure if you’re across it, but I invented the robot in the UK> I know lots of people in New York started it but I brought it to mainstream UK. I know you do a lot of dance moves yourself, but I could always teach you,’ he said in a video by BT Sport.

‘It sounds like it’s a big deal,’ she deadpanned, quipping that she’s done ‘a little bit’ of dancing herself.

‘It’s all about body locking and popping – yeah, I am incredible at it,’ the ever modest footballer explained, although Camila joked that she felt a bit intimidated by the idea.

She added: ‘Oh my God! I just feel like I won’t be as good because you’re twice my height! I can try, but…’

Away from the robot, Camila insisted her dance influences are far-ranging – ‘kind of anything really’ – and she’s planning something special for her Champions League Final show on Saturday at the Stade de France, just north of Paris.

‘Big, big routine! There’s literally at least 300 dancers, it’s crazy,’ she gushed. ‘And you should teach them all the robot!’

Despite Camila insisting Peter’s moves were ‘better’ than she expected, he didn’t seem up for the idea of correographing part of her performance, as he sheepishly said: ‘I’ll let you into a secret – I lied, I’m actually not very good at it.’

The Havana singer will kick off Saturday evening’s game between Liverpool and Real Madrid with a medley of her hits to get the festivities started.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if she does slip a robot into the routine, and we’re not holding our breath – but perhaps we’ll get a cheeky Crouch cameo?

We can dream.
