Piers Morgan brands anti-vaxxers ‘selfish pr*cks’ after suggesting they should be ‘thrown in cave’

Piers Morgan is never one to mince his words, and today is no exception as he hit out at ‘selfish’ anti-vaxxers.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter has long supported the Covid-19 vaccine and touted it as the light at the end of the lockdown tunnel during his time on the ITV show as well as on social media.

Taking a moment from his viral golfing efforts and take-downs of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the journalist turned his attention back to those refusing the jab on Monday, branding anti-vaxxers ‘selfish pr*cks’.

Piers wrote: ‘I’ve got no problem with those refusing to have the covid vaccines, so long as they have no problem with history recording them as selfish pr*cks who only cared about themselves in a global pandemic.’

And, as you can imagine, the comments section was…well, it was a mash-up of both those supporting Piers’s sentiments and those who incorrectly claimed they didn’t ‘need’ the jab because they’d already had Covid.

Even with both doses of the vaccine, jabbed people are not 100% immune from catching Covid or passing it on, but they are much less likely to than someone unvaccinated with both jabs.

It’s hardly the first time the outspoken journalist has hit out at those refusing to get the jab, previously suggesting they should be ‘thrown in a cave’.

Ahead of the country’s ‘Freedom Day’, in which lockdown restrictions were lifted earlier this year, Piers wrote on social media tt the time: ‘I’ve supported lockdowns as the only way to suppress covid without efficient testing systems or vaccines.

‘But now we have both, fully vaccinated people should get their freedom back again from July 19.’

After he was questioned by a follower about what happens to those who haven’t received their full Covid-vaccination, musing whether ‘we throw them in a cave or something’, Piers replied: ‘Those with legitimate medical reasons not to be jabbed must continue to take care, and be given due care.

‘Anti-vaxxers can be thrown in a cave, yes.’

Piers also previously suggested those who refuse the vaccine should be denied NHS care if they contract Covid.

He wrote: ‘Those who refuse to be vaccinated, with no medical reason not to, should be refused NHS care if they then catch covid.

‘I’m hearing of anti-vaxxers using up ICU beds in London at vast expense to the taxpayer. Let them pay for their own stupidity & selfishness.’

Piers’s comments follow those of Queen’s Roger Taylor, who branded anti-vaxxers ‘pathetic’ as he supported the use of ‘vaccine passports’ for gigs.

The drummer told the PA news agency: ‘The anti-vaxxers I don’t get. I don’t understand that at all. It seems to be born of pure ignorance and an amount of arrogance and the conspiracy theories. It’s pathetic actually.

‘Of course vaccinations work and we are so lucky to have them, to enable our own bodies to fight the virus.

‘I know people that think it is some giant conspiracy. I just don’t understand them and to be honest I just think it is idiotic not to be vaccinated.

‘And as for people only doing concerts for people who are not vaccinated, that is even more stupidity.’

It comes as YouTube announced a ban on vaccine misinformation and along with it, terminated the accounts of several anti-vaxxer influencers.
