Helen Skelton is the proudest mum as she celebrates a huge milestone for her youngest son.
The Countryfile star recently split from rugby player husband Richie Myler, with the pair saying they would co-parent their three children going forward.
Richie and Helen share three children, sons Ernie and Louis and baby girl Elsie, whom the couple had just welcomed in December.
While Richie has been posting loved-up snaps with his new girlfriend on holidays in Cornwall, this week Helen shared an adorable snap of her youngest, Louis, who graduated from his Reception class.
Taking to Instagram, the TV and radio personality posted a snap of Louis, wrapped up in a raincoat and with a big grin on his face, standing beside one of his teachers.
She wrote: Love and luck school leavers,’ adding a red heart emoji.
‘Baby boy finished reception.’
Helen went on to say she was ‘grateful for amazing teachers and support staff.’
It’s been a difficult few months for Helen and her family, after she and Richie confirmed in April that they had split up.
She said at the time that she was ‘very sad to say’ that she and Richie were ‘no longer a couple’ and he had ‘left the family home.’
‘We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children,’ she added.
Richie has since moved on with Stephanie Thirkill, daughter of Andrew Thirkill who is president of Leeds Rhinos, of which Richie is the ambassador for the Active Beyond Cancer programme.
Rumours of Richie and Stephanie’s relationship began just a week after his split from the mother of his children, with Helen avoiding discussing the break-up in interviews.
This week, Richie and Stephanie visited Cornwall together, sharing photographs of each other cuddled up in the countryside.
Posting a series of snaps to Instagram, Richie wrote: ‘Cornwall… was worth a 32 year wait.’
Stephanie replied to the post, writing: ‘Thanks for the best weekend! LOVE YOU.’
Things are looking up for Helen however, as last week she was announced to be taking on a new Sunday morning radio show on BBC 5 Live.
She replaces Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore, who quit the position after four years.
Her new show, which will broadcast during the 10am-12pm slot Sunday slot, will reportedly combine discussion of sports and current affairs.
Speaking about the new show, Helen enthused: ‘I am really grateful to be joining the 5 Live family on a regular basis.
‘I’ve worked with the station for years, and I’m looking forward to celebrating and showcasing some of the stories and events the top 5 Live team cover. I’m truly excited to get started!’
